Team Petrolic, working hard!

Team Petrolic have been busy working on the 20 page portfolio for the regional finals in Griffith College on the 8th of March. The portfolio is an important part of the competition and it will contain  information about our team members and their roles, our team's identity, car designs, research, and our sponsorship and advertising plans.

On the day of the regional finals, we will have a pit display with our portfolio, posters, pictures, a powerpoint presentation on a laptop, and a display stand with our F1 model car on it. We have also ordered our uniforms for the competition and we are working on getting more sponsorship, which has been quite successful so far! We are delighted to announce that we have been sponsored by Castletown School of Motoring and Azure Automotive and would like to thank them for their generous contributions!

Petrolic's Car Designs!

Before the midterm break, our design engineers were very busy working on the final touches being put to our F1 model car on solid works. We have done a lot of research on aerodynamics, and found some of the best ways to make our car as aerodynamic as possible. We also wanted the car to be as light as possible, because the lighter the object the faster it will travel. We had many different ideas and designs drawn up, but after working hard to get the design right, we were finally happy with the car.

We have sent the car design to the Institute of Technology in Cork where the car will be manufactured out of balsa wood. After this we must get the car sanded down and painted with high quality paint. Each member of Team Petrolic are happy with the final design and we caare looking forward to seeing the car when its completed.
